Salma is the founder of Mind over Mat. She holds a Mat Instructor Training Certification from Merrithew STOTT Pilates and a Full Apparatus Pilates Equipment Teacher Training Certification from Gramercy Pilates New York City.

Her sessions are built on a Pilates foundation and are designed as a full body workout with an emphasis on core strengthening, correct breathing, endurance building, increased flexibility and better alignment. Always with an obsessive focus on “proud posture”.

Her aim is to further develop each client's mind-body connection whereby they feel every inch of movement in each session, and for the rest of their day to follow, mentally before they do physically.

Born and raised in Egypt, Salma lives in New York City with her husband, son (11), and daughter (6).
